We also offer All-on-4® dental implants, which allow our patients to receive implant-supported dentures with just four implants, instead of the typical six to eight. While some patients can't receive implant-supported dentures without first receiving a bone graft, the conservative All-on-4 technique allows our Lake Jackson, TX, dentist to bypass the graft and place implants without it. We can reline the base of your denture to keep up with those changes and ensure a comfortable, functional fit. Dentures may also wear down over time, in which case we can replace them.
To help your dentures last as long as possible, patients should avoid chewing gum, using toothpicks, or eating extremely hard or sticky foods. Patients should also practice good habits and dental care, such as:
Brushing your gums, tongue, and the roof of your mouth to remove plaque and increase blood circulation before inserting your dentures
Brushing and rinsing your dentures daily using soft-bristled brushes, especially the area around any metal clasps
Use denture cleaners or mild soaps to wash your dentures, but never toothpaste (which can damage your dentures)
When you’re not wearing your denture, place it in a mild solution or lukewarm water (not hot water, which can warp the material) to keep the denture moist
